From C, playing FFT: War of the Lions and trying to make Marach and Rapha useful:

"Okay, the bomb did kill Marach, but Rapha is alive! She's low on HP and covered in oil, but maybe that's just how Ramza likes her."


We also downloaded the first installment of FFIV: The After Years. It's so oldschool and it has "band abilities" that are like Triple Techs from Chrono Trigger and they use the old music and everything. Ceodore starts out pretty whiny, but you know what? BIGGS AND WEDGE SLAP HIM AROUND AND TELL HIM TO MAN UP. A+ I am enjoying this sequel.

Oh yes and we determined that if I opened the Grimoire of the Rift and fell into Ivalice I'd get cursed as a dragon, poached, and turned into a purse.

I pretty much never use Rafa or Malak. For that very reason. Once you get Cid, there's no point in anyone else, man. :/

Though I am currently finishing off WotL; am currently at 73 hours and working on job classes. Have nearly finished every quest (or wtfever its called--I'm playing four tactics games at once, okay?).

I haven't dl-ed it yet. Am looking forward to it, though, however.

I toss Cid out for his usefulness, and Malak for his utter uselessness. Rafa I keep, because her pitiful Brave stat makes Move --> Find Item more useful (of course that means that she languishes in my party select until the Deep Dungeon).

The After Years is really good. Plus S-E isn't dragging out the release schedule so the whole game will be available around the end of August or so.

Rafa I use only for that, but normally (in WotL) I have a team of: Ramza, Mustadio (Idc if he becomes redundant B|), Luso (because he's adorable okay), and Cid. The remainder tends to be a mix of characters, usually just ones that need more JP or EXP (though I have everyone at 99 atm). Roflrofl Deep Dungeon. It's next on my list, but I'm putting it off while I work on FFTA2 and WA XF, though XF is a breeze because I'm just working on leveling the Classes up.

I am pretty much almost entirely spoiled for it, but it seems good. SEE. SQUARE-ENIX CAN MAKE A GOOD DIRECT SEQUEL. The art is beautiful, too. It's the perfect medium between Nomura and Amano, I think.

I always use Mustadio. In WoTL I never use Balthier. I don't have the heart to kick him out because I fangirl him as much as the next person, but goddamn him for overshadowing the original Bunansa :|


Yeah, I'm really liking Akira Oguro's stuff. I hope they bring him into a big production game at some point.

I was, frankly, pretty pissed to see him present in the FFT Trading Arts and not Mustadio. Even Ovelia was kinda a dumb choice, considering you see her like, three times within the original game. Though I'd love an Algus figure. Because I love douchebaggery. Doesn't matter, though, since I only own Ramza and Delita. Am considering picking up an Agrias, though. Someday.

I really love older!Rosa's color palette. I KNOW IT'S KINDA WEIRD AND RANDOM OF ALL THE THINGS TO SAY, but I really love it. At this point, I'm entirely over Nomura. Everything is starting to look the same to me. Amano--I LOVE HIS ART, REALLY!--but it really isn't something I like as a character design for a game.

I was pissed that Mustadio didn't get a trading arts, too! I mean, c'mon, Balthier has a mini-Trading art AND a Play Arts figure AND at least one of those polystone statue things. At least give Mustadio a Trading Art.

I've only really liked Nomura's designs for: FFX Yuna, AC Yuffie, and ... uh ... oh yeah the new guy in FFXIII.

Admittedly Amano isn't much better about not making everybody look like everybody else, but he's an "image illustrator" and not a proper character designer--and you can tell he's just been phoning it in ever since FFIV.

I'm sure he'll have more on the way, too. And poor Tactics Advance and A2. They get pretty much nothing. I'm still waiting for a Dissidia!Cecil (I am so pissed that they released the 'popular' characters first, if... if they do choose to release the rest). I'm still holding out for a proper FF5 remake. I hope they'll get more than the chibi!figure treatment that 3 & 4 got (speaking of, no adult!Rydia and wtf!Cid of all characters as the last one?).

I am convinced S-E has it out for people like me.

Pretty much the same. Though I like Auron's design. Because I'd hit it. I totally knew you'd say that about FF13. SIMULTANEOUSLY AWESOME AND RACIST.

I'LL JUST GIVE 'EM LONG BLONDE HAIR. NO ONE WILL KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.

Yeah as nice as a new Zidane figure is, I would've liked to have seen Cecil and Bartz, too.

I WILL TELL MYSELF THAT KEEPING SAZH IN THE PARTY AT ALL TIMES WILL ASSUAGE MY WHITE GUILT OVER LIKING THE COMEDIC MINSTREL-SHOW SIDEKICK GUY.

I honestly think that Bartz will never see a figure. DO WANT HIM IN DANCER!JOB CLASS OKAY. IT IS TOO HILARIOUS NOT TO.

I'M STILL NOT SURE IF I WANT TO BUY IT/WILL BUY IT. I AM HOPING THAT MY 'GAMES I NEED TO FINISH GDIT' LIST WILL GO DOWN BY THEN. As it stands, my copy of Eternal Sonata (PS3 version; bought in February) is still sealed. :( And I really want to get Cross Edge.

Ring of Fates is an awesome, awesome game! Echoes of Time is also good, but honestly unless you're a super hardcore Crystal Chronicles fan like me, owning both is unnecessary. Echoes of Time corrects the annoying gameplay issues that are present in Ring of Fates, but at the cost of having a more dopey story.

I actually haven't played Crystal Chronicles yet because I didn't get a Gamecube until like... not at all. :/ (Symphonia was played with sucking up to my brother, as was Skies of Arcadia and Baten Kaitos) And now that I've got a Wii, I'm going through and finishing/replaying/buying GC games I didn't get the chance to pick up.

I haven't heard much of it (sans from you), but I tend to like games that almost no one else likes/cares about.

I was fortunate enough to have gotten to play the original Crystal Chronicles on multiplayer with two other people. It was one of the most enjoyable multiplayer experiences I've had since Secret of Mana. Unfortunately, that requires two or more people with GBAs and the link cables and blahblah. I haven't tried the single player on that yet, but I hear it is terrible :\

But anyway, I think Crystal Chronicles is the best thing S-E is putting out these days. It does a better job of being Secret of Mana than the actual Mana series.
