Current mood: hot

Julyyyyyyyyyyyy you are the worst month ever.

Apparently it's 70 out right now, but I wouldn't know it because the air has ceased to circulate and my room is unbearably hot. Tomorrow it will be even hotter.

However! I don't care how ungodly hot it's going to get on Saturday because I'm going to SF with [info]BFFL for the FF: Distant Worlds concert \o/!!! I am excited. This is exciting.

THINGS THAT I MUST DO:

  • Clean bathroom

  • Do laundry

  • Find camera battery charger/charge battery

  • Block out the hateful rays of the sun

oh god iawtc. :(

Fff, kinda jealous. I missed it when it came here. There were commercials on TV for it and it was pretty much just FF8 stuff overandoverandoveragain.

FOR SOME REASON there's a lot of FF8 on the Distant Worlds playlist. I went to Dear Friends in 2004 and it was pretty awesome. I'm going to have to bite my tongue and not laugh at One-Winged Angel, though.

I feel that it's probably because too lazy to update and the graphics are some of the most impressive (in a realistic way) so that your non-FF fantard that comes with you won't go B| the whole time. Personally, I am most partial to VI and IV's music. IX was lovely, too.

Actually, I realize I could talk about the music forever.

Better not! Someone might eviscerate you if you do.

Oh yes VI and IX's OSTs are my favorites. And IV has that great "Celtic Moon" album. I wish they'd do those sorts of things again.

IV DS was nice, too.

I'm disappointed by a lack of the earlier games being orchestrated. AS MUCH AS I LOVE LISTENING TO SNES-MUSIC, IT'D BE ACE TO HEAR MORE THAN LIKE. 12 TRACKS REVISITED. Though the choice for VI was pretty good, I think. /sucker for it baww

Ugh I know. IF I HEAR "BOMBING MISSION" ONE MORE TIME ... There are hundreds of tracks to choose from, after all. Palom and Porom's theme would sound cute live. I'm sure you could do something cute with it and like, put it in a medley of children's themes with Relm and Eiko or something.

Fff, I'd love that. It'd be super-duper-cute. Considering nearly every game has a kid or a younger character, they could do a pretty decent montage.

Have fun at the concert!

Also, did you see the news about the new killer robot? : http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,532492,00.html?test=latestnews

Happy laundering!

I did hear about the robot! I'm pretty sure its function isn't actually to run on the corpses of its enemies, but I suppose that the author of the article couldn't help but come to the conclusion that it could happen and would be completely atrocious and at the same time really, really cool.

That being said, the BigDog Quadraped Robot is still the most frightening thing in robotics to me.

Woah - that is...terrifying. I'm not sure if the fact that it doesn't have a head makes it better or worse.

Yeah...the newspaper has just printed a retraction/correction saying that the EATR robot is, in fact, a vegetarian. Probably more efficient (and ethical) but just not as cool somehow.

I too know the terror of warm summers. Not even thinking of beeswarms and crocodillos can make the heat any more bearable :(

I hope your game-music concert experience ends up better than mine did. PLAY! in Sweden turned out to be incredibly lackluster compared to previous years.

Oh if only I could stand the long cold winters of the North. But alas, I think I am in fact part reptile and therefore confined to Mediterranean climates.

Huh, I wonder if that has anything to do with PLAY! Canceling last summer. Anyway, a while ago they did a poll on what battle them to orchestrate next, and it ended in a tie between Dancing Mad and J-E-N-O-V-A. I'm hoping against hope that a) the premiere it on Saturday and 2) that they use the largest concert hall organ in North America for, say, a 17 minute organ piece.

Haha, I am by far used to the winters by now, give it time and it may come to you as well!

I don't know anything about it cancelling, but it got really bad reviews and there're a lot of rumours flying around on the musicians being mistreated and the arrangers being more concerned about making a quick buck on merchandise than on the music. It wouldn't surprise me.

Man now I wish I could come to your concert to wash the poor aftertaste that concert gave me out.

Oh my. All I know is that they canceled 3 weeks in advance last summer and they never gave a reason or rescheduled. DRAMA!

I will give a full review and/or try to sneak a recording depending on whether or not I can find the battery charger for my camera!

I shall!

Hopefully C and I won't get horribly lost and miss half the concert like I did in 2004.

. . . Got lost trying to get to 5 from 1, wound up on 101 instead, and ended up in L.A. with no instructions on how to get to the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
